Artykuł przedstawia główne etapy ewolucji polityki rewitalizacyjnej w Wielkiej Brytanii i Francji w drugiej połowie XX w., do opublikowania Narodowej strategii rewitalizacji w Wielkiej Brytanii. Punktem wyjścia było zestawienie niezależnego rozwoju polityki rewitalizacji w obu krajach oraz przesłanek, które doprowadziły do nawiązania kontaktu i transferu doświadczeń. Następnie omówiono debatę brytyjsko-francuską i zakres transferu doświadczeń między oboma krajami. Przedstawiono wpływ debaty i transferu doświadczeń na późniejszą politykę rewitalizacji w Wielkiej Brytanii.

The paper presents main stages in the evolution of renewal policies in France and in the United Kingdom in the second half of the 20th century, until the publication of the British National Renewal Strategy. The starting point was a juxtaposition of independent growths of renewal policies in both counties, as well as premises, which had lead to establishing contacts and transferring of the experience. Next, the paper reviewed the French and British debate, as well as the scope of experience transfer between the two countries. The impact of the debate and of the experience transfer upon the later, British renewal policy, was presented.
