Introduction deals with organization of historical monuments protection in the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia. It presents the way of conducting resto ration and documentation work as well as those connected with records. It mentions the problem of great importance, i.e. ways and methods of making people interested in problem involved in historical monuments protection. It also discusses regular educational work with th e young people. At the end of the Introduction the Editors of th e „Protection of Historical Monuments”, a quarterly, express th e ir thanks to the Editors of the quarte rly „Pamâtkovâ Pécè”, issued in Czechoslovakia, for successful exchange of articles. Polish articles appeared in the 5th Issue of „Pamâtkovâ Péce” from 1975.
