Współczesna rodzina narażona jest na wiele trudności i zagrożeń w realizacji zadań i funkcji wpisanych w jej oblicze. Staje się niejednokrotnie rodziną ryzyka w sytuacji zdeterminowanej przez takie czynniki jak bezrobocie, bieda, konflikty, brak mieszkań, przemoc. Potrzebą rodziny, a obowiązkiem państwa, staje się zatem konieczność pomocy i wsparcia, zainteresowanie jej problemami i sytuacją. Naprzeciw temu wychodzą różne organizacje i instytucje, ale również przepisy prawa określające możliwości i formy pomocy, nakładające jednocześnie obowiązek jej udzielania na gminy jako jednostki samorządu terytorialnego będące najbliżej mieszkańców i ich problemów. Aktualne regulacje prawne zawiera ustawa o wspieraniu rodziny i systemie pieczy zastępczej, wskazując na takie formy wsparcia, jak asystenci rodziny, placówki wsparcia dziennego oraz rodziny wspierające. Problematyka, jaką podejmuje niniejszy tekst dotyczy rodzin wspierających, które zostały sformalizowane, tworząc jeden z elementów systemu pomocy dziecku i rodzinie.

Modern Family is exposed to a lot of difficulties and risks in the implementation of the tasks and functions inherent in her face. Family often becomes a risk, the risk society, which is determined by factors such as unemployment, poverty, conflict, lack of housing, violence. Families need and the obligation of the state, thus becomes the need of help and support, interest in the problems and situation. In front of this face various organizations and institutions, as well as state law requires possibilities and forms of assistance, while imposing the obligation to provide for the community as a unit of local government which is closest to the people and their problems. Current legislation includes the Law on family support and foster care system, pointing to such forms of support, such as family assistants, educational support, and family support daily. I take the issue of this document focuses on supporting families that have been formalized, creating one of the elements of the child and family support.
