Artykuł analizuje doświadczenia przemocy ze względu na płeć, opierając się na badaniach jakościowych przeprowadzonych w Argentynie z udziałem młodych kobiet, w latach 2017–2022. Celem jest zrozumienie dyskursu lęku przed ‘miastem’, który towarzyszy dziewczętom od dzieciństwa oraz pierwszych doświadczeń przemocy w przestrzeniach publicznych. W artykule wykorzystano perspektywę genderową na zjawisko strachu przed przemocą ze względu na płeć oraz feministyczną teorię miejską, które konceptualizują przestrzeń publiczną jako domenę mężczyzn, a przestrzeń prywatną jako przestrzeń kobiet. Analizowane są skutki tego binarnego podziału, w tym wzmacnianie lęku u dziewcząt oraz obwinianie ich za doświadczaną przemoc. Badania, obejmujące okres mobilizacji ruchów na rzecz praw kobiet w Argentynie, ukazują, jak historie kobietobójstw pojawiają się w biografiach młodych kobiet i jak złożonym zjawiskiem jest przemoc w przestrzeniach miejskich, związanym zarówno z indywidualnymi doświadczeniami, jak i z dyskursem publicznym.

The article examines gender-based violence experiences in public spaces, based on qualitative research conducted with young women in Argentina between 2017 and 2022. It aims to understand the discourse of fear towards the ‘city’ that accompanies girls from an early age, and their initial experiences of violence and harassment in public spaces. The article employs a gender perspective on the phenomenon of fear of violence and feminist urban theory, which conceptualizes public space as a male domain and private space as a female domain. It analyzes the consequences of this binary division, including the amplification of fear among girls and blaming of them for the violence they experience. The research, covering the period of mobilization of women’s rights movements in Argentina, reveals how narratives about femicide appear in the biographies of young women and how urban violence is a complex phenomenon related to both individual experiences and public discourse.
