In Polish literature the figure and writings of priest Bronisław Maryański (1863-1912) is not well known or even forgotten. In this situation it seems to be a highly desired matter to fully include whole life and all levels of activities of the priest B. Maryański – dedicate full dissertation, which would bring closer the figure that is today forgotten. Prematurely died priest – author left rather small heritage of his literary writings. His creativity includes three volumes of novel: Ester. Powieść z czasów niewoli babilońskiej (Warsaw 1901), biblical story, Judyta (Warsaw 1901). Priest B. Maryański is also the author of the biographical essay Geniusz Miłości. Opowiadanie historyczne, published in three volumes in Płock between 1909 – 1910. In full retrospect, Maryański’s biblical prose includes also Holofernes. Powieść biblijna published in two volumes in Płock in 1908. Furthermore, Maryański is the author of one contemporary novel, Sara, published under a pen name Grzegorz Brzózka. Beside priest B. Maryański’s prose, he is the author of a substantial number of articles and societal – religious treatises and three volumes of sermons, as well. By presenting literary works and attempting to monograph the life and writings of priest B. Maryański essential in judging his literary heritage is to point out booklets: W hołdzie Maryi. Studium historyczne-ascetyczne (Płock 1907) and Bractwo różańcowe (Płock 1907), which are the crowning of his ministry. One of priest B. Maryańskiego’s primary activity trends was to spread education. From this outline of life and work biography, emerges a literary portrait of B. Maryański: priest, parish, preacher, minister, and writer.
