Wooden folk architecture is a document and source of the knowledge on the past. It attracts with its beauty and c a p tures with a skillful introduction into the environment. A big number of decorative themes have survived in wooden folk architecture, including architectonic elements of roof’s gables. The present article is devoted to the analysis of these themes. The author discusses decorative forms which are found in wooden architecture of Slovakia, exemplified by roof's gables.
