Jednym ze współczesnych wyzwań dla pełnienia posługi spowiedniczej są problemy związane ze sferą ludzkiej seksualności. Z tej racji, że w tej sferze istnieje wiele różnych opinii, nie zawsze zgodnych z nauczaniem i sprawdzoną praktyką pastoralną Kościoła, konieczna jest refleksja dotycząca rozumienia zadań spowiednika i sposobów podejścia do problemów etycznych związanych ze sferą seksualną życia człowieka. Właściwe podejście do tych kwestii jest kluczowe dla owocnego sprawowania i przeżywania sakramentu pokuty i pojednania, i stanowi ważny element formacji moralnej wierzących. Problematyka etyczna związana ze sferą ludzkiej seksualności jest złożona i obejmuje liczne zagadnienia szczegółowe. Niniejszy tekst omawia kwestie ogólne dotyczące seksualności, które są aktualne we współczesnej praktyce sakramentalnej w Kościele. Należy do nich pytanie o istotę związku seksualności i spowiedzi sakramentalnej. Kolejnym ważnym zagadnieniem jest rozumienie grzechu w sferze seksualnej człowieka. Bardziej praktyczny wymiar omawianej tematyki dotyczy zagadnienia stawiania przez spowiednika pytań oraz udzielania nauk i rad penitentom w obszarze etyki seksualnej. Kwestie te dotykają istoty rozumienia sakramentu pokuty i pojednania, natury i różnych wymiarów grzechu oraz misterium ludzkiej seksualności. Kluczem owocnego sprawowania posługi sakramentu pokuty i pojednania jest postawa polegająca na „towarzyszeniu procesom wzrostu”.

One of the contemporary challenges for the service of a confessor are the problems connected with the sexual sphere of human life. Insomuch as in this area there are many different opinions, which are not always harmonious with the teaching and the proved practice of the Church, it is necessary that the reflection concerns the understanding of the tasks of confessor and his ways towards problems connected with the sexual sphere of life. Central to these questions and crucial to the fruitful celebration and experience of the sacrament of penance and reconciliation is the important component of the moral formation of believers. Ethical issues connected with the sexual sphere of human live are complex and include a lot of detailed questions. The present paper is concerned with the general problems connected with sexuality, which are contemporary in the sacramental practice of the Church. The first of them is the question about the essence of the connection between sexuality and sacramental confession. The second one is the understanding of sin in the sexual sphere. A more practical dimension of this present topic concerns the issue of asking the penitents by confessor and giving them instructions and advices in the sphere of sexual ethics. These questions concern the essence of the sacrament of penance and reconciliation, the significance and the different dimensions of sin, and the mystery of human sexuality. The key for the fruitful celebration of the sacrament of penance and reconciliation in this field is the confessor’s attitude towards “companionship of growth processes”.
