Relacje pomiędzy narodami chińskim i żydowskim stanowiły istotny czynnik wpływający na zmiany w obecności Chin na arenie międzynarodowej w XX i XXI w. Elementy tożsame dla podstawowych systemów filozoficzno-religijnych Chińczyków i Żydów – judaizmu (syjonizmu) i konfucjanizmu – były widoczne od wielu stuleci. W dwudziestowiecznej sytuacji politycznej, po powstaniu dwóch odrębnych organizmów państwowych, ich wzajemne kontakty oddziaływały zarówno na politykę Chińskiej Republiki Ludowej, jak i Izraela. Było to szczególnie widoczne w latach 50., jak i 60. XX w. Najważniejszym momentem było jednak otwarcie gospodarcze Chin na świat, powiązana z tym faktem coraz silniejsza zależność od bliskowschodnich surowców naturalnych i, w związku z tym, rosnące znaczenie Izraela jako czynnika politycznego w regionie. Symbolicznym zwieńczeniem podobnego wpływu było więc ponowne nawiązanie stosunków dyplomatycznych przez oba kraje w 1992 r.

China-Jewish relations were highly influential as a factor of China stance in the international arena in both 20th and 21st century. “Meeting” points between Judaism and Confucianism - the most important philosophical systems for Jews and Chinese - were visible within centuries. In the 20th century – after both states reaching the independence - political situation in the region and in the international arena (Cold War) highly influenced both the PRC`s and Israel`s foreign policy and their relations of course. It was highly visible in the 1950`s and 1960`s years in the 20th century. Finally, the most important moment of bilateral relations was China`s “opening to the world” (Deng Xiaoping policy), combined with an economical success and - caused by that - high dependence on sources of energy from the Middle East. That made Chinese-Israeli highly important and led to a reengagement of diplomatic relations between in 1992.
