W 2017 r. nastąpiło dalsze obniżenie deficytu sektora finansów publicznych (do 1,7% PKB), co prawdopodobnie jest najlepszym wynikiem polskich finansów publicznych od 1929 r. Ogólnie stan polskich finansów publicznych należy uznać za dobry, ale w świetle bieżących kryteriów. Dalsze perspektywy nie są już tak dobre. Zachodzi strukturalna nierównowaga pomiędzy poziomem obciążeń podatkowych a programem wydatkowym, skoro nie udało się wyeliminować deficytu w szczytowym punkcie koniunktury. Pewne spowolnienie dynamiki PKB nie stworzy jeszcze istotnego zagrożenia, ale recesja może doprowadzić do załamania.

In 2017, there took place a further reduction of deficit of the public finance sector (to 1.7% of GDP), what has probably been the best result of Polish public finance since 1929. In general, the state of Polish public finance should be considered as good, though in the light of current criteria. Further perspectives are already not so good. There takes place structural disequilibrium between the level of tax burden and the spending programme forasmuch it has not been possible to eliminate deficit at the peak of boom. A certain slowdown of the GDP dynamics will yet not have produced a real threat, but recession may have led to a slump.
