From guiding to emancipation during math classes in the third grade – action research

Abstracts
The author of the article discusses basic assumptions of action research as a method of research. Analyzing the course of mathematics classes in the third grade, she refers to selected pedagogical discourses. The article presents selected findings illustrating how children who are treated in accordance with the idea “to educate is to guide” function in open situations that encourage them to make decisions, express opinions, and evaluate.
