Opinions of pupils and teachers on biology textbooks

This article presents opinions of pupils and teachers on biology textbooks. The research was carried out on ten lowersecondary school (6th–9th year). Findings show, that current Czech biology textbooks differ in processing particular topics. Pupils of the 7th year are the most interested in biology. Later students’ interest in this subject decreases. Students dislike the biology topics in textbooks for the 9th year. Opinions of teachers are similar to those of pupils. They consider textbooks of SCIENTIA and SPN publishing companies the best. Teachers recommend to reduce the volume and difficulty of topics in biology textbooks for 8th year of education.
