W artykule skoncentrowano się na charakterystyce zawodu nauczyciela z punktu widzenia gwarantującego w nim sukces, pożądanego natężenia/typu wybranych różnic indywidualnych – osobowości zawodowej, inteligencji emocjonalnej i kompetencji społecznych. Na tle teorii zaprezentowano wyniki badań własnych, odnoszących się do rzeczonych charakterystyk studentów pedagogiki. Interpretacja uzyskanych danych umożliwia postawienie pogłębionej diagnozy w omawianym zakresie oraz sformułowanie prognozy dalszego funkcjonowanie osób badanych i wniosków dotyczących potencjalnych modyfikacji systemu kształcenia nauczycieli.

The article focuses on the characteristics of the teaching profession from the point of view of ensuring its success, the desired intensity/type of selected individual differences - vocational personality, emotional intelligence and social competences. On the background of the theory, results of the study relating to the mentioned characteristics of pedagogy students have been presented. Interpretation of the gathered data enables creating an in-depth diagnosis in this field and formulating prognosis of further functioning of the study subjects and also – putting proposals on potential modifications of the teacher education system.
