EN

One of the key problems and challenges for the European Union’s security are international migration movements. They pose a threat against economic, social and ecological security. In the literature of the subject matter there are numerous publications relating to the widely understood problem of migration and its influence on the European Union’s security. However, there is no comprehensive analysis or assessment of these initiatives which include establishing new bodies and institutions dealing with the problem of migration in the EU as well as seeking new undertaking aiming at limiting migration and its consequences. Migration movements play a significant role in the European Union’s functioning and bring about both positive and negative effects. The EU faces a serious challenge which is to develop legal and organizational solutions which will improve the management of migration flow, which in turn will translate into higher security level of this organization.
