Чи можливо поставити науковий експеримент у галузі перекладу філософських текстів? Так, можливо — і результати одного такого експерименту нині пропонуються читачам ФД.

The publication consists of the Greek original of the first five chapters of Aristotle’s “Categories”, Ukrainian translation from the original, Latin translation by Boethius and Ukrainian translation from Boethius’s translation. The two Ukrainian translations are made in different terminological key, basing, respectively, on original Slavic vocabulary and Ukrainian loanwords from Latin. The introductory comment remarks that the outcomes of this experimental translation are revelation of various strata of Ukrainian vocabulary fit for reproduction of the European philosophical classics, and also revelation of originality and separate philosophical value of the corpus of texts of “Latin Aristotle”.
