Celem niniejszej pracy jest odpowiedź na pytanie, jakie walory edukacyjno-kulturowe mogą towarzyszyć popularyzowaniu za granicą wiedzy nt. życia i dorobku Janusza Korczaka. Punktem odniesienia dla zawartych tu rozważań są obchody Roku Janusza Korczaka w Ameryce Łacińskiej. Uwzględniając specyfikę regionu, jego społeczne i historyczne uwarunkowania, autor wyszczególnia te aspekty korczakowskiego dziedzictwa, które mogą być szczególnie aktualne w rzeczywistości latynoamerykańskiej. Pracy towarzyszy kalendarium wybranych wydarzeń zorganizowanych w ramach obchodów Roku Korczakowskiego w w.w regionie.

The aim of this study is to explore the educational and cultural values accompanying the overseas popularization of knowledge about the life and work of Janusz Korczak. The reference point for discussion contained herein is the celebration of Janusz Korczak’s Year in Latin America. Taking into account the specificity of the region, as well as its social and historical conditions, the author details the aspects of Korczak’s heritage that are particularly relevant in the Latin American reality. The work is accompanied by a calendar of selected events organized in the region in celebration of the Korczak’s Year.
