The purpose of this study is to present the peculiarities of teaching children polish as a foreign language. They are based on observations made in grades I-III at the Canadian School of Warsaw in the school year 2017/2018. What challenges can teachers face in teaching children polish as a foreign language? This is the main question that we will try to find the answer to. Then, the role of games in teaching children polish as a foreign language will be discussed. Dobble, Kaboom!, KIM, Moje zwierzątko, Narysuj mnie, Statki, Memory and other games will be presented as good and fun tools that can be used successfully during the lesson to engage pupils in learning vocabulary, pronunciation and simple grammar. A few websites are also recommended as a source of inspiration.
