In the article the author tries to describe acomic book storyline — X-Men: Days of Future Past — as well as its other media iterations through the structure of transmedial storytelling. The main goal here is to underline the crucial role of popular comics in creating and sustaining avast narrative models that refer to the multiverse philosophy — acreative effort that concludes in existence of many variations of the given comic book franchise. By analyzing X-Men: Days of Future Past with its cartoon and cinematic reconstructions it becomes quite obvious that each text is creating its own vision of the basic storyline that refers very strictly to the changing conditions of popular culture production and reception. The article concludes with astatement that by more advanced researching the area of popular comics we can gain a much more complex idea about the ‟world-building’ paradigm” of today’s popular production.
