W artykule przedstawiono rys historyczny oraz współczesne zagadnienia związane z edukacją bibliotekarzy na poziomie uniwersyteckim w krajach Afryki Subsaharyjskiej. Omówiono programy i treści kształcenia na kierunkach bibliotekarskich na wybranych uczelniach afrykańskich, a także problemy społeczne bibliotekarstwa afrykańskiego.

The article presents the historical and contemporary issues related to the education of librarians at the university level in sub-Saharan Africa. The content of education programs and courses for librarians on selected African universities are discussed and also the social problems of the African librarianship.
