The author has conducted surveys on the modern perception of the Schengen Area, a sense of security, and the threats posed by the phenomenon of migration. The results indicate that as many as 61% of the respondents believe that Poland should close its borders. The three main risks associated with migration that respondents mention are as follows: terrorist attacks, the increase of crime, and the negative impact of Islam on Western culture. Very alarming results have been reported related to the sense of security, namely as many as 88% of respondents feel concerned about the recent terrorist attacks that have taken place in Europe, whereas 77% of the respondents are afraid that Poland could become a potential target of terrorist attacks.
