W latach 2012-2018 na terenie Polski południowo-wschodniej w dużym nasileniu wystąpił szarek komośnik (Asproparthenis punctiventris (Germ.)) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) stanowiąc poważne zagrożenie dla upraw buraka cukrowego. Jest to pierwszy tak liczny pojaw szkodnika na obecnym terenie Polski.

In 2012-2018, in the south-eastern Poland, rootbeet weevil (Asproparthenis punctiventris (Germ.)) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) occurred in a large scale and it was a serious threat for sugar beet cultivation. This is the first such abundant occurrences of this pest in the present territory of Poland.
