The purpose of this paper is to present the assumptions of management development methodology and economic activity of family business. At the outset there was shown the specificity of a scientific approach of the family business, its stages of development and the dominant issues specific to so-called soft management. Drew attention to the relationship management methods with methods of cost accounting in terms of management schools. There were elements identified to the so-called hard management based on quantitative methods of management and cost accounting, which, together with the already identified quality problems make up the notion, methodology and methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the threshold. This approach presents a methodology for the analysis of the threshold elements of family business management, signaling in the end the selected mathematical methods to optimize the broader economic activity.(original abstract)
