Jak pisze Wiera Meniok: „Wraz z Alfredem Schreyerem odeszła cała epoka, której był wiernym świadkiem, odeszła subtelna i głęboka prawda istnienia człowieka mającego ogromną wolę życia, posiadającego niesamowitą umiejętność rozniecania radości istnienia, opowiadania o życiu innym, opowiadania o tym świecie, którego coraz bardziej nie ma”.
