Kontekst rozważań stanowią niepokojące wyniki badań nauk empirycznych dotyczące ryzyka przekraczania tzw. granic planetarnych. Są one od około dwóch dekad nagłaśniane w ramach dyskusji o epoce człowieka – antropocenie. W ich obliczu przyjęte zostaje założenie o konieczności interdyscyplinarnej, prośrodowiskowej korekty szeroko pojętej myśli społecznej oraz uspołecznienia dyskusji o antropocenie. Autorka interpretuje i analizuje dwa modele: krytykę kapitałocenu Jasona W. Moore’a oraz planetarną myśl społeczną Nigela Clarka i Bronisława Szerszynskiego wskazując na wybrane zalety obu koncepcji, a następnie dyskutując słabości propozycji Clarka i Szerszynskiego. W ostatniej części artykułu zrekonstruowane zostały najważniejsze założenia i tezy tzw. ekonomii ekologicznej dewzrostu. Jak przekonuje autorka, dziedzina ta stanowi współcześnie najpłodniejszą egzemplifikację planetarnej myśli społecznej. W jej obrębie możliwe jest konstruktywne uspołecznienie akademickiej debaty o antropocenie.

The conceptual argumentation presented in this article is triggered by the disturbing results of empirical research on the so-called planetary environmental crisis. For about two decades, they have been widely publicized within the discussion about the epoch of man – the Anthropocene. In the context of these data, the text assumes the need for an interdisciplinary, pro-environmental correction of broadly understood social thought (and at the same time the need of bringing social factors into the discussion about the Anthropocene). The author interprets and analyzes two models: Jason W. Moore’s criticism of Capitalocene and ‘planetary social thought’ by Nigel Clark and Bronisław Szerszynski. The text indicates some advantages of these concepts and then discusses the weaknesses of Clark’s and Szerszynski’s proposals. Finally, the article reconstructs the essential assumptions of the so-called ecological economics of degrowth. This discipline is the most vibrant exemplification of planetary social thought today. It enables the constructive attunement of the academic debate on the Anthropocene to social issues.
