The article discusses the issues related to the introduced capital requirements of banks in Poland. The purpose of this article is to show how Basel III regulations infl uenced the regulatory capital of the banking sector. The experience of the 2007-2009 crisis, in this case the problems of banks, applicable to existing safety standards, have led to the need for introducing additional security. The article contains an analysis of banking institutions in Poland response according to new standards. The purpose of this article is to show that the Basel III regulations affected the increase in the quality of regulatory capital of the banking sector in Poland. Mentioned relationship affects strengthening the banking sector.
