In the paper there is presented the essence of inter-organizational relationships with the focus on the area of ​​distribution channels. The study was based on the textile industry enterprises. The research sample used in the study is representative of the whole province of Silesia. There are three main research problems. The first problem is to define the entities with which the clothing companies enter into relationships in distribution channels. The second is to determine which elements of management are used by these entities to shape that kinds of relations. The last - the third - requires an indication what actions are taken by these entities under each element of management, to maintain and develop relationships in distribution channels.

W artykule zaprezentowano istotę relacji międzyorganizacyjnych zachodzących w kanałach dystrybucji. Badania zawarte w opracowaniu przeprowadzono na przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu odzieżowego. Próba badawcza jest reprezentatywna w skali województwa śląskiego. Wyróżniono trzy główne problemy badawcze. Pierwszym jest określenie podmiotów, z którymi przedsiębiorstwa przemysłu odzieżowego współpracują w kanałach dystrybucji. Drugi, jest wskazanie elementów zarządzania, które badane podmioty stosują w celu kształtowania tych relacji. Natomiast trzeci problem to określenie, jakie działania są podejmowane w każdym z elementów zarządzania relacjami, aby podtrzymać współpracę w kanałach dystrybucji.
