The aim of the paper is to show the coexistence of books and media based on the analysis of the phenomenon of global media products. Examples from the book for children and youth supporting the thesis about a kind of “media reps journey” are shown. The paper presents the constitutive features of the phenomenon (occurrence of global reach, transfer of a literary text to other media through intersemiotic translation, product standardization, decentralization of distribution, the existence of a visual of the product, crossing borders of symbolic culture, i.e. gadget mania, etc.) as well as market mechanisms for its creation by mass media, and also strategies for attracting the young audience.
