This text presents the conception of man included in works of medieval mystic Hildegard of Bingen. Hildegard in his anthropology focuses on presenting the unique position of human in the work of creation and the method to restore the original harmony destroyed by original sin. According to Hildegard, a man from eternity planned by God and “resting” in the divinity’s depth is a being, for which God created the world – after the fall of man, redeemed him and a road back to the cosmic harmony. In this great cosmic return to God, a human activity, uniting the whole created order, plays a guiding role. Currently, the man, who is in a position after the fall, easily lost way back forgetting about his place in the world and the order of nature. He is a keystone of this nature. Hildegard’s visions may be considered in this context for a perfect plan, “map” of reation, which can allow the man for an appropriate action. Activity, which imitates and continues Creator’s activity and distinguishes a man from all other creatures.
