Family Communication patterns show how parents communicate with their children. The construct of Family Communication Patterns has been often used by researchers for decades. They have used this construct to describe a family environment influenced by many variables. Researchers also began to examine how family communication patterns are related to children‘s development in some aspects. Original model of these communication patterns was used by researchers to investigate an interest about public sphere, protection children online and parental mediation online as well. Family communication patterns are described in terms of conformity orientation (originally “socio-orientation”) and conversation orientation (originally “concept orientation”). The first of them point at the parent‘s authority and extensive encourage to accept parent‘s advice or opinion. Children in this type of families accept parental authority, maintain consistent relationship and to remain away any misunderstanding with their parents or others. The conformity oriented families are authoritative and controlling families. The conversation orientation includes families within is natural to spend a lot of time together. These family members share their thoughts and activities. One of the main features of conversation orientation families is effort to discussion. It means the children are encouraged to discus with their parents and they are encouraged to express their individual ideas, beliefs and feelings.
