The article deals with the works on the recording o f the 20th-century architecture, carried out at Rembertów which has been Warsaw’s district from 1957. In the 2nd half o f the 19th cent. Rembertów was a summer resort and then it was turned into a military testing ground. Between 1918 and 1939 Rembertów w'as the seat of a military training centre ; now it holds the General Staff Academy. In the first place, the recording covered houses built for military men in the twenties and thirties o f this century. Most o f the structures were inspired by the architecture from the turn of the 18th and 19th cc., and only in some elements the 17th- century architecture found its reflection. The study comprised also all buildings outside the testing ground. A number o f quite ordinary houses represent various modifications of the 20th-century eclecticism, occasionally modernized. There are also some examples o f the functional architecture from the thirties. The church, the construction o f which started in 1939, is in the neo-baroque style.
