The article is about the analysis of Cyprian Norwid’s lectures on Juliusz Słowacki, in which the author finds a specific method of contextual reading consisting in the inscrip-tion of Norwid’s art in the tradition through its renewal. Therefore, Norwid’s methods of interpretation can be read as comparatistics due to the fact that Norwid collates Słowacki and his art/works with other authors from different literary periods (mostly with Byron). The category of morality associated with the Christian tradition and Norwid’s hermeneu-tics as well as anthropology are, above all, the ground for comparison.
