The author presents the semantic and formal evolution of the Polish conjunction predicate tedy > wtedy. Being polysemic, tedy constitutes the Polish equivalent of the English then, French alors..., in other words: it evolves from being a signal of temporal reference to being the signal of an unexpected situation in need of an adequate, conclusive solution.
