Целью данной статьи является изображение личных отношений между членами польской диаспоры в Харбине (Китай) и их отношений с жителями Срединного государства в 1932–1937 годах, то есть от занятия Квантунской армией города до начала второй японо-китайской войны. Главными источниками, передающими информацию об упомянутых частных и общественных контактах, являются воспоминания харбинцев — членов местной Полонии. Дополнением к ним послужила информация, содержащаяся в издаваемой польским культурно-образовательным учреждением „Господа Польска”, прессе, а особенно на страницах „Харбинских писем” и их продолжении „Дальний Восток”. Польские „харбинцы” в своих воспоминаниях очень много места уделяют описанию семейных, дружеских и соседских отношений, которые их и их близких связывали с китайцами. При этом они часто вспоминают о разнообразных китайских обычаях и традициях, а также об изучении родного языка жителей Срединного государства. Частым мотивом, выступающим в их отношениях, является проблема взаимопомощи. Другое направление — совместное участие представителей обоих народов как в традиционных китайских, так и в католических праздниках. Нередко в воспоминаниях встречаются обширные заметки на тему многочисленных торговых отношений, которые устанавливали поляки с китайцами. Из полонийной прессы читатель может узнать об участии китайцев в мероприятиях, организованных польской Полонией. Другой, затрагиваемой темой на ее страницах, является совместное участие поляков и китайцев в спортивных соревнованиях, в частности в хоккейных, футбольных и баскетбольных играх. Из анализа источников следует, что поляки чаще всего заводили знакомства с китайцами, которые были их соседями, либо с которым их объединяли взаимно оказываемые услуги. Немаловажным для дальнейшего исследования данного вопроса является факт, что о частных и деловых взаимоотношениях поляков и китайцев больше всего мы узнаем из воспоминаний харбинцев, а не из официального источника — полонийной прессы.

The aim of the article is to present the relations between members of the Polish diaspora living in Harbin, China, and the local Chinese population in 1932–1937, i.e. from the capture of the city by the Kwantung Army until the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War. The main sources of information about these private and social contacts are the memories of the “Harbinians” — members of the local Polish diaspora. They are complemented by information included in the periodicals published by a Polish cultural institution, Gospoda Polska, especially in Listy Harbińskie and its continuation Daleki Wschód. In their reminiscences the Harbin Poles devote a lot of attention to family, friendship and neighbourhood ties between them and the Chinese. In their descriptions they often mention various Chinese customs and tradition as well as the Chinese language learning. A frequent motive in their accounts is the question of mutual assistance. They also talk about the participation of representatives of both communities in the celebrations of traditional Chinese and Polish feasts. In addition, there are frequent and extensive references to numerous trade links between the Poles and the Chinese. When reading the Polish periodicals we can learn about the participation of the Chinese in events organised by the Polish community, as well as the participation of both Poles and Chinese in sports events, especially hockey and basketball games and football matches. An analysis of the sources reveals that the Poles usually established relations with those Chinese people who were their neighbours or with whom they exchanged various services. Significantly, we learn about private and professional contacts between the Poles and the Chinese mostly from the Harbinians’ reminiscences and not from the official sources — the periodicals published by the Polish community.
