Publikacja stanowi kontynuację tematyki działalności biur karier za granica zapo-czątkowaną artykule „Z działalności biur karier za granicą – Wielka Brytania” za-mieszczonym w 3/2013 numerze Edukacji Ustawicznej Dorosłych. Analiza przykładów „dobrych praktyk” z działalności biur karier wiodących na świecie uczelni wyższych pozwoli bliżej poznać złożoność realizowanych działań, a przytoczone w artykule przykłady mogą przyczynić się do doskonalenia funkcjono-wania polskich biur karier. W artykule podjęto próbę udzielenia odpowiedzi na następujące pytania: Jak rozwijało się poradnictwo zawodowe w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki? Jak otoczenie wspomaga działalność biur karier w USA? Które z działań podejmowanych przez biura karier wiodących szkół wyższych są godne przeniesienia na polski grunt?

The article presents a brief outline of the history of the development of career counseling in the USA. The examples of good practice of networking by professional associations to support career offices were shown. The activities of career offices at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Princeton University were presented. The paper can be treated as the inspiration to Polish career services office in the development of innovate strategies
