PL

Istnieje bardzo bogata literatura światowa analizująca związki pomiędzy wydatkami na zdrowie a dochodami per capita. Część badaczy jest zdania, że opieka zdrowotna jest dobrem luksusowym, gdy tymczasem inni uważają, że jest dobrem podstawowym. Wyniki zależą od doboru obiektów badawczych, metody i okresu badawczego. Celem artykułu jest zbadanie zależności pomiędzy wydatkami na ochronę zdrowia i dochodami per capita w krajach europejskich ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem krajów Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej. Próba badawcza obejmuje lata 1995–2012. Zastosowano modele panelowe. Wyniki badań nie określają jednoznacznie, czy opiekę zdrowotną należy traktować jako dobro podstawowe czy luksusowe. Badania wykazują wyraźny podział wśród państw europejskich.
