Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badania ankietowego przeprowadzonego na próbie 1722 studentów z pięciu polskich uczelni. Jego celem było poznanie skali doświadczania przemocy i zaniedbania emocjonalnego w dzieciństwie oraz związku między nimi a zachowaniami autodestrukcyjnymi, takimi jak próby samobójcze i samookaleczenia. Wśród badanych studentów 42,18% potwierdziło, że było ofiarą przemocy emocjonalnej w dzieciństwie, a 25,07% – zaniedbania emocjonalnego. W przypadku zachowań autodestrukcyjnych 16,66% badanych deklarowało dokonywanie samookaleczeń, a 4,60% podjęło próbę samobójczą. Analizy wykazały silny związek między doświadczaniem krzywdzenia emocjonalnego w dzieciństwie a podejmowaniem zachowań autodestrukcyjnych.

The article presents the results of a survey conducted on a sample of 1722 students from five Polish universities. Its purpose was is to determine the scale of emotional violence and neglect in childhood and the relationship between them and self-destructive behaviors, such as suicide attempts and self-harm. Among the surveyed students, 42,28% of respondents confirm that they were victims of emotional violence in childhood, and 25,07% of emotional neglect. In the case of self-destructive behaviors, 16,66% of respondents declared that they self-harmed, and 4.60% attempted suicide. Analyzes showed a strong relationship between experiencing emotional abuse in childhood and undertaking self-destructive behaviors.
