The author's intention is to present motifs and inspirations originating from the Constructivist idiom in his own practice of a „performance artist”, dating back to the mid-seventies of the 20th century. The title of the paper, the combination of the first two syllables of words: „construction”, „Constructivism”, with the word „action”, prefigures a method rooted in the author's artistic initiation, in the conceptual and action circle, in the period immediately following the counter-cultural rebellion's eruption. The presentation begins with an insight into the reality of the late sixties and early seventies in Krakow, into the artistic environment of the city and the author's contacts with artists who combined this period of time with the development of Constructivist ideas. Relations, analogies, similarities and differences between the two phenomena – analytical constructivism and performance art, understood as one of the strategies of the idiom of intermedia - are subjected, on selected examples, to an analysis of their crisis states and failures. The conclusion of the paper is the indication of social and political proposals of phenomena juxtaposed with each other, whose failure is a common feature of utopia.
