In the context of Ukrainian postmodern prose, the consumption-culinary discourse is identified as one of the great motifs. The heroes of the prose works by Eugenia Kononenko, Juri Andrukhovych, Juri Izdryk, Oksana Zabużko and other are hedonists. They like to cook and eat meals and drink not only coffee or tea, but also alcohol. At the same time, these heroes through consumption and culinary motifs and symbols are able to express their complicated life experiences.
