Credit rating agencies have become an essential element of the global financial market. Currently, this part of market is a frequent subject of criticism, which is made by many economists. Most proposed solution to some of the problems is to create a European credit rating agency. The aim of the publication is to present the specifics of this part of the global financial market, to show the idea of creating a European credit rating agency, and to attempt to answer the question posed in the title of this article.
