The semantic analysis shows that derivatives coming from verbs of determinative or unidirectional movement, e.g. odjechać vs. jechać generally express spatial meaning whereas those coming from verbs of non-determinative or multidirectional movement – temporal meaning, e.g. pojeździć sobie vs. jeździć. Pairs of verbs movement have an imperfective aspect (non – completion), e.g. jechać : jeździć, etc. Prefixes in the Polish language always indicate the meaning of perfective aspect (completion) and at the same time they modify the meaning of verbs depending on their formation possibilities and lexical meaning of verbs.
