One of the key success factors of new business entities is a good business idea. The period of studies is a convenient time for creating such ideas. Except stimulation of business creativity, higher education institutions can provide the students with indispensable knowledge enabling them to break through the barriers to the implementation of business ideas. The article presents the conclusions from the Student’s Entrepreneurship Survey investigating those barriers and the role of universities in business idea creation. The survey has been conducted since 2003 at Szczecin University.
