Wybrane aspekty świata islamu i muzułmanów

Stosunkowo duży wzrost liczby ludności muzułmańskiej we współczesnym świecie, kryzys migracyjny, aktywność różnego rodzaju islamskich grup ekstremistycznych powodują, iż muzułmanie stają się dziś przedmiotem debaty politycznej w wielu krajach, również w tych, gdzie diaspora muzułmańska jest niewielka. Wiele kwestii związanych z islamem i muzułmanami żyjącym zarówno w krajach muzułmańskich, jak i diasporach rozsianych po całym świecie, pozostaje nadal szerszej publiczności nieznanych. Kwestie związane dziś z odradzającym się islamem w miejscach gdzie przez pewien czas był on totalnie wykorzeniony, kwestie obecności i praw różnych dyskryminowanych grup i dyskryminacja ze względu na płeć stają się dziś ważnymi tematami w dyskusji naukowej nad światem. Podobnie jak media i literatura.
