The article attempts to portray the beginnings of the press of Polish war refugees in Hungary from late September to October 1939. At that time, magazines were spontaneously published both in Budapest for the whole refugee community ('Gazetka Scienna', 'Biuletyn Informacyjny dla Uchodzcow Polskich') and locally for individual internee camps ('Polak na Wegrzech', 'Pobudka', 'Kurier Poznanski', 'Dziennik Kisbodacki', 'Hangoniak').
