The article presents the history of Saint Ann Chapel in Krolowy Most. It was built at the time when court chapels started to play an important role. This article attempts to answer the following questions: why was the Chapel built in this place? What happened to it during the January Uprising? Why was it rebuilt into an Orthodox church? The article is based on numerous archive sources stored both in Poland and abroad, which provided the answers to the above mentioned questions. The article pays particular attention to the time of the January Uprising of 1863, when the Chapel became one of the centers of patriotic impulse within the territory of the Knyszyn Forest. An old cemetery located nearby in the wood appeared to be an interesting structure as well. It seems striking that the deceased of two faiths - Roman Catholic and Orthodox, were buried there. The article is complemented by photographs.
