The aim of this paper is to present the model of the civil war risk reduction. Close attention was paid to the income of ethnic groups. In Bosnia and Herzegovina the substantial differences among ethnic groups were noted. The situation was different in case of Macedonia. Additionally in Bosnia and Herzegovina there was no correlation between the rise of income and the increase of GNP, inflation and unemployment.
