THE CULT OF THE AGRICULTURAL GODDESSES IN TYRAS

The feminine divinity of fertility played a prominent role in the life of Greek communities in the Lower Dniester region, particularly at Tyras, where Demeter was the most prominent deity according to the unanimous opinion of modern scholars. The article discusses the archaeological and epigraphical documents of her cult in the area, together with illustrations of monuments.
