The article is an attempt at establishing the owners of individual villages in the valley of the Luciaza river in central Poland. The castrum of Rozprza was founded there at the end of the 9th century and it became the centre of the small area and the local community known as 'opole'. The northern border of that territory is known from a document of 1255. The author tries to define the remaining borders on the basis of topographic conditions, forests, moulding of the terrain, and data on settlement. The main part of the article is devoted to establishing who the owners of individual villages and boroughs on the territory were. The available sources and application of other methods of historical reconstruction (including the retrogressive method) allowed to establish the state of land ownership on that area in the second half of the 12th century.
