The article presents advantages and disadvantages of average salaries and wages as a statistical feature indicator of income. The author applied exploring data analyses to characterize a structure and dynamic of monthly average salaries and wages by NACE sections from the 1st quarter of 1999 to the 4th quarter of 2003. It was found that ordering averages for NACE sections was constant in the surveyed period because of nominal increase of averages was higher for beginning values than for further.
