Kwestia wyposażenia gospodarstw domowych w dobra trwałego użytkowania stanowi ważny aspekt badania poziomu życia ludności. Stałą obserwację tego zagadnienia, w ramach ogólnopolskich badań budżetów, prowadzi GUS. Celem artykułu jest określenie stopnia koncentracji (równomierności rozkładu) i jego zmian w zakresie wyposażenia gospodarstw domowych w dobra trwałego użytkowania wyższego rzędu, w zależności od grupy społeczno-ekonomicznej oraz wielkości gospodarstwa domowego. Analizy dokonano na podstawie danych, pochodzących z ogólnopolskich badań budżetów gospodarstw domowych, przeprowadzonych przez GUS w latach 1993-2002.

A target of the article is to prove which commodities amongst the durable goods can be treated as day-to-day goods and which can be treated as superior goods. The author of the article also wants to prove a level of concentration (uniformly distribution) and changes within durable and superior goods equipment of households depending on social and economic group and dimension of households. The analysis was conducted on the basis of data from surveys on households' budgets conducted by GUS in the period of1993-2002. As a result of analytical procedure it was proved that: - as superior goods accepted: satellite or cable TV equipment, compact disc player, videocamera, personal computer, microwave oven, dishwasher; but the highest value of concentration indicators was characterised by videocamera. Videocamera was recognised as luxury goods; - criterion differing households, in a case of these goods, is a dimension of households than social and economic group of households; - superior goods equipment of households, with exception of 6 persons and more - households, is universally when a dimension of households is larger, but satellite or cable TV equipment were recognised as general goods; - personal computer was recognised as rarely goods in 1-person households.
