Analysis of potential rate of economic growth shows that long-term impact on the rate is also connected with factors not directly connected with mechanism of economy functioning (e.g. demographical processes or social phenomena). One of the factors is an increase of criminality that can be treated as simplified measure of negative social capital. Presented results confirm negative impact of rate of criminality increase on rate of economic growth. Consequently with reduction of criminality we foresee not only the increase of safety and life comfort of individual, but also a growth of GDP. Approach described in the article strayed from the standard analysis of economic growth based on generally traditional economic factors (i.e. work or physical capital). Increase of criminality can be one of the reasons of incomplete using an output capacity. Economic growth should not unbalance a social capital i.e. aggravate social relations. Otherwise, as a result of a feedback we can expect a slowing down of economic growth.
