The review of the indicators was preceded by the attempt of defining the sustainable development notion. The review is mainly based on the codification of the common elements for its different definitions. To show the practical problems connected with the eco-development measure, the author also mentioned specific indicators, which were adopted by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development. In this review the author presented brief comment on these indicators. (original abstract)
